Q. What does a new tub really cost?
A. $400.00? $900.00? $2,000.00?$2,000.00!
That's the average cost of replacing a bathtub by conventional methods, reached by a national survey. But you have heard that you can buy a new tub for $300.00. Yes, you may be able to buy a "bathtub," but what about labor costs, the possible loss of tiles, walls and floors to be replaced by new. Plus the dirt, mess, inconvenience and time involved. Also, many times, the newer tubs will not fit into your present space.
But, to resurface your tub, in-place, with no mess or debris and with little inconvenience, for a fraction of the cost can be a terrific savings!
Remember, tubs don't wear out – surfaces wear out.
Q. My fiberglass shower/tub has a crack in the bottom of it and is soft, is there anyway you can repair this?
A. Yes, we are able to rebuild the floor in your shower/tub and make it as strong as new if not stronger. We also fix cracks, chips and holes in porcelain and fiberglass tubs.
Q. What special cleanser should I use on new refinish?
A. One of the advantages of this process is that your tub is now nonporous. The new surface should be cleaned as you would any tub. We suggest that you do not use any harsh cleaner such as Comet, Ajax or Bleach etc because these react like sandpaper to any porcelain surface. We recommend Scrubbing Bubbles, Fantastic Sam, Lysol etc.
Q. How long will the finish last?
A. Since everything is relative, with normal care and cleaning, your new finish will last for many years. Peeling and flaking seems to be the major concern. This condition is caused by trapping moisture under the glaze during the process and if present, 30 to 90 days after the re-glazing. Your guarantee affords you ample protection against this unlikely possibility.
Q. How long before I can use my tub again?
A. You may use your bathtub in two days. Your new surface will continue to cure (harden) for several month. However, this poses no problems or restrictions to normal usage of the bathtub.
Q. What about my shower doors?
A. Bath doors and tracks must be removed in some cases, prior to applying our materials.
Q. In redecorating my bathroom, should I have my tub re-glazed first?
A. No, do all other work first, such as papering, painting or new toilet. Schedule us last, since our guarantee does not cover man-made damage. Accidents that could damage the new finish of your tub could happen.
